Born in Singapore, Mr Keng fell in love with cooking as a child, and he began his apprenticeship when he was 15, In 1990 Mr Keng when into the food business for himself in the teeming Whampoa area and brought fame to the district with his many signature dishes.
Under the dynamic leadership of Mr Keng, Whampoa Keng group of restaurent have grown from a single hawker stall to owning a chain of profitable food outlets with its own central kitchen and catering subsidiary.
Todate his group of restaurants has won many awards with the ultimate culinary accolade for fish head steamboat, being recognised as one of the four heavenly kings in Singapore.
Although Mr Keng has pass his business to his sons to bring it to the next level of massive growth, he still plays a major role in the business, sourcing and researching on new dishes, bringing only the best premium ingredients to his customers.
